Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
The short version: use Cadence to keep track of your own subscriptions, treat the service fairly, and we will do our best to keep it honest and reliable. The full terms are below, in plain English.
Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using Cadence (the app and this website), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use Cadence. We have written them in plain English so you can actually read them.
What Cadence is
Cadence is a subscription tracker. You record the subscriptions you pay for, and Cadence reminds you before each renewal and before a free trial turns into a charge. Cadence does not link to your bank, read your inbox, or scrape your accounts. Everything in your list is information you choose to enter.
Your account
Eligibility. You need to be at least 16 years old to create an account.
Accurate details. Please give us a real email address so reminders and account emails reach you.
Your login is yours. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has gained access.
Acceptable use
Please use Cadence as intended. You agree not to:
- use it for anything unlawful, or to harm, harass, or infringe the rights of others;
- attempt to break, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other users’ data;
- copy, resell, or redistribute the service, or reverse-engineer it, except where the law expressly allows;
- upload malicious code or use automated means to abuse the service.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Your data
The subscription details you enter belong to you. We handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy. You can edit your data in the app, and you can export or delete everything (email us until self-serve export and one-click deletion land in your settings). We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s purposes.
Pricing and payment
Cadence is free to use during early access, with no card required. We plan to introduce paid plans. If we do, we will show you the price clearly and ask for your agreement before any charge, so you are never billed by surprise. If you joined under a founding offer, we will honour the rate and terms presented to you at the time you signed up.
Third-party names and logos
All product names, logos, and brands shown in Cadence are the property of their respective owners and are used only to help you identify the subscriptions you track. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, or endorsement by, them.
Reminders and availability
Cadence is a helpful aid, not a guarantee. We work hard to send your reminders on time, but they depend on things outside our full control (such as email delivery) and on the details you enter. You remain responsible for managing and cancelling your own subscriptions. Cadence helps you remember; it cannot cancel on your behalf or guarantee that every reminder arrives. We aim to keep the service available and reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, pause, or retire features as the product evolves.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent the law allows, Cadence is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for missed charges, renewals, or cancellations. Managing your subscriptions remains your responsibility.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot legally be excluded. Where such rights apply and the law permits, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of doing so.
Ending your use
You can stop using Cadence and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are required to act by law. If your account is closed, these terms stop applying, except for the parts that by their nature should continue (such as the disclaimers and liability sections).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Cadence grows. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for account holders, let you know by email. Continuing to use Cadence after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of Australia. This does not affect any rights you have under the laws of the country you live in.
